ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action tonight to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup. The Regents came into the game having their next four matches left at home on the season. Unfortunately, Rockford could not prevail in the match tonight, losing 3-0.
In the first set the Regents fell behind the Warriors immediately and were unable to recover. Ultimately, falling by the final of 25-18. Rockford amassed 12 kills, their highest of the match. In the second set the Regents regained their ground and jumped out to a commanding lead, 15-8. Unfortunately, the Warriors scored the next 11 points to take a four-point lead. Ultimately, Rockford fell 25-21. They totaled 7 kills. Wisconsin Lutheran won the third set 25-11 to drop Rockford in straight sets.
Leading the Regents were Liberty Hartman (Freeport, Ill.) with 7 kills. Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) had 3 kills, 19 assists, 12 digs and 4 service aces. August Guest (Lahaina, Hawaii) added 2 kills, 2 digs and 1 assist.
The Rockford University volleyball team returns to action Friday, October 21 to take on Edgewood College at the Seaver Center with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
