MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Rockford University women's soccer team (2-10-0) found its way back into the win column on Friday afternoon with a 4-1 road victory over the Mount Mary University Blue Angels (1-11-0).
The Rockford University women's soccer team (7-11) concluded its best season in 15 years on Wednesday afternoon with an impressive 7-3 drubbing of Lincoln Christian University (1-12). Rockford outshot Lincoln Christian 40-9 including a decisive 22-7 advantage in shots on goal. However the match was close at the half as Rockford entered the intermission trailing 2-1. Fortunately the Regent offense exploded in the second half, scoring 6 goals en route to the victory.
The Rockford University women's soccer team took to the field Friday evening to face off against Mount Mary University, as well as to honor its seniors. The game would be a defensive match for much of the first half as shots were in favor of the Blue Angels 7-5. Neither team went into halftime with anything to show on the scoreboard. RU dominated the game in the second as they outshot Mount Mary 8-0, and went on to win its final home game of the season with a score of 1-0.
The RU women's soccer team took to the indoors on Tuesday evening to face off against Maranatha Baptist University. Even with the shots being 10-4 in the first half in favor of the Sabercats, the score remained tied 1-1 heading into halftime. Maranatha would go on to score 2 more goals to take the game with a final of 3-1.
The Rockford University women's soccer team fell 10-0 on the road Monday night to the Marian University Sabres. It was a difficult day for the Regents as the Sabres were in control the entire match outshooting Rockford 47-3. The Sabres got off to a hot start scoring a trio of goals in the first 12 minutes of the match to leap out to an early 3-0 lead. Marian would tack on two additional goals in the first half to take a 5-0 advantage into halftime. The second half did not get any better, as the Sabres added five more goals en route to victory.
The Rockford University women's soccer team took on Lakeland University Sunday afternoon. The two teams were held scoreless in the first half. The Regents would come out on top with a final score of 1-0.
The Rockford University women's soccer team concluded its two-game road trip on Saturday against the Lawrence University Vikings. Unfortunately Lawrence was in control for most of the match as Rockford was shutout for the seventh time this season. The Vikings used a 29-8 advantage in shots including a 17-3 edge in shots on goal for a 5-0 victory.
The Rockford University women's soccer team hit the road for the first time in almost a month on Thursday evening to take on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks. Unfortunately the match was all Scarlet Hawks from the onset as Illinois Tech scored a trio of goals in the first six minutes and took a 9-0 advantage into halftime. Illinois Tech would add three additional goals in the second half en route to a 12-0 victory.
