ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (1-12, 1-8 NACC) fell to a tough Benedictine University Eagles team (11-2, 7-1 NACC) on Tuesday night. The Eagles came out strong jumping to a 41-15 lead at the half. BenU closed it out in the second despite Rockford playing much better offensively, as Benedictine went on to win by a final score of 84-53.

  • It was a two-point game with only three minutes remaining in the first quarter after Linzy Keller (Machesney Park, Ill.) drilled a three to make it 9-7 in favor of Benedictine.
  • The Eagles would go on a 6-0 run to close out the quarter and go into the second up 15-7.
  • Rockford continued to struggle to find the basket in the second quarter, while Benedictine exploded for 26 points. BenU would take a commanding 41-15 lead heading into the half.
  • Nicole Silvers (Byron, Ill.) led the Regents at the half with 7 points.
  • Rockford played much better offensively in the second half as the Regents scored 18 in the third before posting 20 in the fourth. Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Eagles proved to be too much keeping up with the Regents' pace.
  • Benedictine would go on to win by a final score of 84-53.
