"The search committee was impressed with Michael's preparation, passion and dedication. His connections in the Rockford community will benefit the program right away, and we believe he is ready to hit the ground running and fill the roster with quality student-athletes."

Lanera enters the collegiate ranks after extensive local coaching experience at both the high school and club levels. "I would like to thank Jason Mulligan and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to be the head men's volleyball coach at Rockford University," Coach Lanera stated. "Boy's volleyball has grown significantly in recent years in the Rockford area, and there are a lot of talented young men looking to continue playing at the collegiate level. I feel confident and am excited that we will be able to recruit some outstanding student-athletes to Rockford University and build a strong program for many years to come."
