LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (8-9-2, 3-6-1 NACC) celebrated its senior night with a victory over the Lakeland University Muskies (3-14-0, 0-10-0 NACC) on Saturday night.
RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (5-4-1, 1-2-0 NACC) picked up a huge 1-0 win on the road Wednesday afternoon against the Concordia University Chicago Cougars (2-4-0, 1-2-0 NACC).
LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (4-3-1, 0-1 NACC) dropped its first game to begin NACC play on Wednesday night as it hosted the Dominican University Stars (4-2-0, 1-0 NACC).
The Rockford University men's soccer program has been honored by the United Soccer Coaches with its Team Academic Award for excellence in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year. This marks the first time that Rockford has received the award since its inception in 1996. The Regents were also one of only four NACC men's soccer programs to receive the prestigious honor, and their 3.18 team composite grade point average was second highest amongst men's teams in the conference.
The Rockford University athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Josh Rohde as its next head men's soccer coach. Rohde joins the Regents after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater men's soccer program. He becomes the twentieth head coach in the program's 56-year history.
The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 6-1 on the road Wednesday afternoon to the 2017 NACC Champion Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons (11-3-3, 9-1-0 NACC). Although the final score might not indicate it, the Regents played the Falcons tough for the entire match. Rockford was able to get off 9 shots, but unfortunately only 3 of them came on goal. Conversely, 11 of the Falcons' 16 shot attempts were on goal, leading to three goals in each half and the victory.
The Rockford University men's soccer team turned in a dominant performance in an impressive 5-1 road victory over the Lakeland University Muskies. The Regents outshot the Muskies 29-7 including a decisive 17-2 edge in the first half. Rockford also controlled the play around the net limiting Lakeland to just two shots on goal, while recording 15 shots on goal themselves. The win gives Rockford multiple NACC victories in same year for the first time since the conference was formed for the 2006 season.
The Rockford University men's soccer team took to the field Wednesday night for their last home game of the season, as well as honoring their seniors. RU faced off against Edgewood College in what would be a tight contest in the first half, with both teams scoring 1 going into halftime. The Eagles would outscore the Regents to edge out the win with a final score of 4-2.
The RU men's soccer team took to the field indoors tonight due to weather, as they faced off against Marian University. The first half would be back-and-forth as the Regents outshot the Sabres 5 to 4 with no goals scored by either side. Both teams would find the back of the net in the second half as regulation ended 2-2. It would not be until the second overtime that Marian would get the game winning goal.
The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 8-2 on the road Wednesday night to the Benedictine University Eagles. Benedictine came out of the gates on fire scoring a trio of goals in the first twelve minutes. The Eagles would add two more goals over the next thirteen minutes to grab a commanding 5-0 lead midway through the first half. Fortunately the Regents found the back of the net in the 33rd minute when junior Bailey Beard (Rockford, Ill.) scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season off an assist from Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill.), making it a 5-1 game. However, the Eagles responded with another goal less than eight minutes later to take a 6-1 lead into the half.
