Tony Diemer Named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) garnered his second award of the season on Monday night, when he was selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Diemer has now been voted both the NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week and has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week this season, making him the first RU men's basketball player since Zach Wallace in 2016-17 to accomplish that feat.

Tony Diemer nearly averaged a double-double and helped lead the Regents to a perfect 2-0 record in NACC play last week. He opened the week with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in Rockford's 99-79 win over Lakeland. He then poured in 32 points on 12-for-18 shooting (66.7%), with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal in the Regents' 108-102 overtime win against Aurora. The win gave Rockford its first regular season sweep over Aurora since 2002-03. For the week, Diemer averaged 26.0 points on 50.0% shooting from the floor, 9.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.5 steals.

Rockford will look to make it six straight NACC wins on Wednesday night when the Regents host Benedictine University. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM in the Seaver Center.
