MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Rockford University men's basketball team (3-2, 1-0 NACC) never trailed in an impressive 91-78 road win over the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors (0-3, 0-1 NACC) on Saturday. Although the Regents led basically wire-to-wire, the pesky Warriors were able to hang around until midway through the second half when Rockford used an 11-3 run to put the game away. Rockford dominated in nearly every facet of the game on Saturday. The Regents took 15 more shots than the Warriors and shot 49.3% from the floor compared to just 40.0% for Wisconsin Lutheran. Rockford also continued to showcase its toughness and depth throughout the game. Rockford outrebounded its opponent (44-37) for the fourth time in five games; as well as holding overwhelming advantages in both points in the paint (44-28) and bench scoring (26-7).

The first half belonged to the Regents as Rockford jumped out to an early double-digit lead. Will Adams (Chicago, Il.) and Trae Blumhorst (Mendota, Ill.) led the charge, combining to score 16 of the team's first 20 points to put the Regents in front 20-9. Adams was particularly effective, going 4-for-4 from the floor for 10 points, while also assisting on 2 of Rockford's other 4 made baskets in the early moments. However the Warriors would not go away without a fight, as they were able to pull back within 4 points on multiple occasions. Fortunately Rockford responded each time, including closing the first half with an 8-4 run to take a 48-40 advantage into the break.

Things got a little dicey in the early moments of the second half before Rockford slowly began to exert its will on the Warriors. Wisconsin Lutheran came out of the half clicking on all cylinders as the Warriors knocked down four of their first five shot attempts to make it a one-possession game at 52-50. With Rockford still clinging to a 61-58 lead with 13:23 remaining, the Regents put together an 11-3 spurt to regain control of the game. Ben Temrowski (Rochester, Mich.) drained a three-pointer to get the offense started, while Brandon Emerick (Elkhart, Ind.) led the way scoring 6 of the 11 points. Rockford would extend its lead to a game-high 16 points off a Kevin Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) made layup with 3:37 remaining en route to a 91-78 victory.

Rockford had four players score in double-figures on Saturday. Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) and Will Adams tied for a team-high 18 points. Diemer also added 9 rebounds and 5 assists, while Adams had 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Taylor Krocker (Portage, Wis.) continued his stellar play this season with 15 points on a 7-for-11 shooting performance. Krocker rounded out his afternoon with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Kevin Diemer was the final Regent to reach the double-digit scoring plateau. Diemer had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block off the bench.

Trae Blumhorst also turned in a solid all around effort with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.

The RU men's basketball team hits the road on Sunday, November 26 for an exhibition game at NIU. Tip-off for that game is 3:30 PM. Rockford then returns to NACC action at home on Tuesday, November 28 against Edgewood College. Tip-off is set for 7 PM in the Seaver Center.
