Athletic Work Study Opportunities

The following athletic student employment opportunities are available for those individuals who have been awarded work study money. Please note that some jobs fill more quickly than others and openings may occur at any point during the academic year.

Sports Information: Works directly with the sports information director at all home events. Jobs include helping keep official statistics, operating the video camera for streaming of events, running the scoreboard, playing music, taking action photos, announcing and other assigned duties. Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends and certain holidays. Sport knowledge is preferred but not required as training is available. Contact Brian Vanden Acker ( if you are interested.

Home Events: Helps run home athletic events. Responsibilities include ticket sales, concessions, security, scoreboard, retrieving balls, floor sweeping, line judging, setup, clean up, haltime promotions, team greeting and other tasks as assigned. Contact Andrew Weber ( for more information.

Seaver Weight Room & Fitness Center: Supervise the weight room, fitness center and gymnasium during open hours. Other duties include making sure patrons follow rules and dress code, answer any questions that arrise and help in emergency situations. You are also responsible for wiping down equipment and making sure all weights are re-racked. Must turn in your checklist with supervisor after your shift. Contact Jen Saylor ( for more information.

Athletic Training: Assist the athletic trainer in preparing for practices and home events. Basic coverage of athletic training room, help student-athletes, maintain a clean and safe environment. Contact Holli Hall ( for more information.

Intramurals: Work various intramural evnets that are offered throughout the year. Responsibilities include officiating, scorekeeping, planning and marketing of events. Contact Bob Koopmann ( for more information.

Football Video: Attend practices and games. Assist coaches with practice setup, record keeping, filming and other duties. Knowledge of the sport and ability to work well with others is highly recommended. Contact Jim Schroeder ( for more information.

Game Filmers: Attend home games and film the game for various sports. Job opportunities available for men's and women's basketball and volleyball. Knowledge of the sport and ability to work with others is highly recommended.
