    The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference has recognized over 1,500 full-time student-athletes as scholar-athletes for the 2017-18 academic year. This year Rockford University had 73 student-athletes earn this prestigious honor, which is an increase from last year when 71 Regents were recognized.

    The Rockford University football program is excited to announce the release of its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. Overall the schedule appears to be favorable for the Regents with six of their ten games coming at home, including three straight to kickoff the season.

  • Kaylynne Terry Finishes Thirteenth in the Shot Put at Nationals

    Rockford University freshman thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) concluded her season on Friday, May 25 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Terry's top throw in the shot put came on her third attempt in the preliminaries and traveled a distance of 13.38 meters. Her mark was officially the thirteenth farthest throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and was just 0.16 meters shy of qualifying her for the finals. 
  • Kaylynne Terry Tabbed All-Midwest Region

    Rockford University freshman Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) added yet another award to her name when she was named All-Midwest Region this week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field season. The top-five individuals from each event in each of the eight regions earn all-region recognition. This year there were a total of 667 female athletes from 184 programs who earned all-region distinction, and only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for the award. 
  • Kaylynne Terry Qualifies for Nationals

    Rockford University freshman thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) added yet another outstanding achievement to an already amazing season on Saturday when she officially qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Terry becomes the first Regent known to qualify for Nationals since Rockford transitioned from NAIA to NCAA in the 1980s. She finished the season tied for the ninth farthest throw in NCAA Division III at 13.98 meters. Terry is currently right on the edge of earning All-America status, as the top eight finishers at the NCAA Outdoor Championships are named All-Americans. 
  • Regents Compete at Augustana Twilight Final Qualifier

    The Rockford University outdoor track and field teams participated in their final meet of the season on Thursday evening at the Augustana Twilight Final Qualifier. This was a non-scoring meet as it was the final day for student-athletes across the country to improve their marks prior to next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.

  • Track and Field Competes at the Dr. Keeler Invite

    The Rockford University track and field teams participated in the Dr. Keeler Invite hosted by North Central College on Thursday and Friday. This was a non-scoring meet as individual student-athletes focused on improving their marks both for national rankings and personal records.
  • Jones and Smith Voted Second Team All-NACC

    The Rockford University baseball team had a pair of players receive all-conference recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning. Sophomore pitcher Zachary Jones (Rockford, Ill.) and senior shortstop Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) were both voted Second Team all NACC. This marks the first time either has received NACC postseason honors.

    LISLE, Ill. - It was a record-setting weekend for the Regents at the 2018 NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Regents set eleven school records on Friday and Saturday, seven on the women's side and four on the men's side. As a team, the men finished seventh with 38 points, which is the second most points Rockford has ever scored at the NACC Outdoor Championsh
  • Baseball Takes Care of Business with Sweep of Lakeland

    The Rockford University baseball team (17-20, 11-9 NACC) did its part to earn a postseason berth on Saturday by sweeping the Lakeland University Muskies (8-23, 4-16 NACC), 10-0 and 7-5. Rockford will now need to wait until the conclusion of Sunday's slate of NACC action to see if it earns one of the two remaining spots in the conference tournament. The Regents will need either Benedictine to lose both of its games to MSOE or Concordia Wisconsin to lose one of its two games to Edgewood in order to earn a postseason berth.

    The Rockford University softball team (5-35) host the Mount Mary University Blue Angels (7-19) on Friday afternoon to wrap up its season. The two teams got into a slugfest as Rockford went on to split with Mount Mary. RU won game one 6-5 before falling in game two 13-8.

    The Rockford University baseball team (15-8, 9-7 NACC) played host for a game two, originally halted in the top of the tenth inning with bases loaded and one out against the Concordia University of Wisconsin Falcons (19-13, 9-7 NACC). Despite Rockford smashing two home runs in extra innings the Regents fell in an 11-9 heartbreaker in the thirteenth inning.
  • Regents Topple Tenth-Ranked Cougars

    The Rockford University baseball team (15-17, 9-6 NACC) took another step closer to securing a spot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament on Sunday when the Regents split their two games with tenth-ranked Concordia University Chicago (27-9, 14-4 NACC). Rockford played two very strong games against the first-place Cougars, as the Regents trailed for just one inning the entire day. Rockford was in control for the vast majority of the opener and picked up an impressive 5-2 win before falling late in game two by a final score of 7-6.
  • Regents Finish Seventh and Twelfth at the Beloit Relays

    The Rockford University track and field teams took part in their final tune-up on Saturday at the Beloit Relays prior to next week's NACC Outdoor Championship. As a team, the RU women finished seventh and the men finished twelfth. Individually, the Regents had numerous participants set new personal records; as well as, Lexie Collins (Earlville, Ill.) breaking the RU school record in the 400 meter hurdles and Katrina Kopfhamer (Portage, Wis.) breaking the school record in the hammer throw.

    Apr 28, 2018 LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team (14-16, 8-5 NACC) faced off against the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors (10-21, 7-9 NACC) on Saturday afternoon as RU honored its seniors. Those seniors being honored were Thomas Bolen (Tucson, Ariz.), Kraemer Brandt (Elk Grove, Ill.), Nathan Burris (Oglesby, Ill.), Chris Carlson (Schaumburg, Ill.), Bryce Hinkelman (Ottawa, Ill.), Spencer Lentz (Stillman Valley, Ill.), Dalton Morris (Somonauk, Ill.), Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) and Michael Tosado (Chicago, Ill.).
  • Rockford Drops its Final NACC Games of the Season

    The Rockford University softball team (4-34, 0-22 NACC) concluded the NACC portion of its schedule on Saturday with a pair of road games against the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons (19-15, 9-9 NACC). It was a tough day for the Regent offense, as Rockford scored just one run in the two games combined. However the Regents played very well in the opener, falling 4-0 to CUW, before dropping game two by a final score of 11-1. 
  • Big Innings Hurt Regents

    The Rockford University softball team (4-32, 0-20 NACC) faced off against the MSOE Raiders (23-11, 10-8 NACC) on Friday afternoon as RU celebrated senior day and honored Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) and Abigail Wellwood (Rockford, Ill.). MSOE showed how strong of a team it was it knocked off the Regents 14-4 in game one before winning game two by a final of 20-0.
  • Regents Fall to Maroons

    LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team (13-14) took a hiatus from conference play as they hosted a strong University of Chicago Maroons team (19-9) on Wednesday night. Rockford hung around for most of the game until the Maroons started to sneak ahead late in the game. Rockford went on to drop the single contest by a score of 9-4.
  • Eagles Soar Past Regents

    The Rockford University softball team (4-30, 0-18 NACC) took to field to face off against the Edgewood College Eagles (14-18, 6-12 NACC) on Wednesday evening. Rockford fought hard in both games but the Eagles offense proved too strong. The Regents fell in game one 17-6 before falling 12-4 in game two.
